Head Lice and the Fall

I'm not talking about Autumn here: I'm wondering about chiggers, mosquitoes, ticks, tapeworms (yee-aah!) and other blood-sucking and/or parasitic critters. Are they functioning according to God's original specifications, or did they become what we now loathe as a result of the subjection of creation to sin and decay?

I personally think that they are mutations of the 'Fall' - heck, if the snake was physically cursed, why couldn't other creatures have been negatively affected...?

Well, my Calvinistic side says that are acting according to their totally depraved will and can do no other unless God regenerates them and irresistibly woos them to act according to His good nature.

My Arminian side says that they are acting according to their own free will, and COULD choose to act differently, and if we could just convince them with clever enough argumentation or sentimentality they would see the light.

My practical side says,"Who gives a rip? Gid some RID and blast those little buggers to kingdom come!!"

To Brad: We're blasting away. You may want to do some "inspection" of your own.
